The new season is here, we will play against Paks at the weekend. How do you feel yourself after the training camp?
Dávid Banai: I feel that the training camp was successful for me, and we were preparing two training sessions for 10 days and played 3 preparation matches. One of the main goals of the training camp was to match our game, as many new players were came to the team. In addition, we have brought many new technical elements to our workout and to our game. I feel good now and I'm looking forward to the start!
Filip Pajovic: I feel in excellent condition and I think the team has also picked up the necessary rhythm of strength. One or two of my teammates are struggling with minor injuries, but I think that physically everyone will be confident in performance.
By leaving Szabolcs Balajcza, the conditions around goalkeeper positions changed. What position do you envision yourself in the new championship?
D.B.: Last season I proved in NB1, and I'm still confident. I think I did well in the training camp, but of course the head coach has the right to designate the starting eleven before the weekend.
F.P.: I came here to help the team work and, more importantly, to win our games. I do not know yet who will defend the Újpest's net in the first game, but I'm ready to perform 100% in every match. At the weekend we will play against Paks.
What can we ecpect in the first game of the season?
D.B.: I'm expecting a very difficult match. This will be our first meeting this season, with fans and team looking forward to it. Anyway, we want to get the 3 points from Paks, which could be a great tuning for the next - especially important - match against Ferencváros.
F.P.: Paks plays a very hard and massive football. There has been minimal movement in the summer, so their team is outstanding. I expect an aggressive match, but if we get the best out of ourselves and play as we do in the training camp, then we can trust the win.
Zoltán Kovács's rehabilitation is well done, so we will soon have three stable, self-confident and excellent goalkeepers. "I really feel good, I'm already in training. I'm still doing footwork at the doorsteps yet, but I think I can do full training two weeks later. Balázs Rabóczki has nice training sessions, we are going well with each other, "said our goalkeeper returning from injury.
